On the evening of Thursday, Sept. 27, the US Commerce Department released data showing that the US real GDP in the second quarter was 4.2% annualized compared with the final value, which was in line with the expected and revised value announced last month.

The US consumer spending (PCE) in the two quarter was annualized by 3.8%, which is also in line with the expected and initial value.

The data released jointly include:

The Core Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) price index for the second quarter of the United States annualized 2.1% of the final quarter, slightly higher than expected and revised 2%.

In the two quarter of the year, the GDP deflator index was 3% in the annualized quarter, unchanged from the expected and corrected value.

After the US economic data, the main asset prices fluctuated little. The US dollar index rose slightly, with a current report of 94.64.

Reuters commented that the U.S. economy accelerated in the second quarter to its fastest pace in nearly four years as previously estimated, giving the U.S. economy the prospect of reaching the 3% annual growth target set by the Trump administration.
