Plastics can not replace metal materials, but many properties of plastics have exceeded alloys. PC has good transparency and general thermal stability, but its shortcoming is bad hand feeling. Especially after using for a period of time, it looks "dirty" and belongs to engineering plastics, i.e. plexiglass, such as polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate and so on.

PC is a kind of material which is widely used, such as mobile phone shell, laptop computer and so on, especially for making milk bottles, space cups and so on. In recent years, bottles have been controversial because they contain bisphenol A. The higher the temperature is, the more the residual bisphenol A in PC is released and the faster it is released. Therefore, hot water should not be filled in PC water bottles.


PP plastics are isotactic crystalline and have good thermal stability, but the material is brittle and easy to break, mainly polypropylene materials. Microwave oven lunch box is made of this material. It can withstand 130 C high temperature and has poor transparency. This is the only plastic box that can be put into the microwave oven. It can be reused after careful cleaning.

It should be noted that some microwave oven lunch boxes are made of No. 05 PP, but the lid is made of No. 06 PS (polystyrene). PS is generally transparent, but not heat-resistant, so it can not be put into the microwave oven with the box body. To be safe, remove the lid before putting the container into the microwave oven.


PVC, also known as PVC, is polyvinyl chloride resin. It often produces engineering profiles and daily life plastic products, common raincoats, building materials, plastic film, plastic boxes, etc. Good plasticity and low price. But it can only withstand high temperature of 81 C.

The toxic and harmful substances easily produced by this kind of plastic products come from two aspects: one is the single molecule vinyl chloride which has not been fully polymerized in the production process, and the other is the harmful substances in plasticizers. These two substances are easy to precipitate when they are exposed to high temperature and grease. Toxic substances are easy to cause cancer when they enter the body with food. At present, the container of this material has been less used for packaging food. And don't let it get hot.


PE is polyethylene. Fresh-keeping film, plastic film and so on are all made of this material. Thermal resistance is not strong. Usually qualified PE fresh-keeping film will melt when the temperature exceeds 110 C, leaving some plastic preparations that can not be decomposed by human body.

Moreover, when food is heated by wrapping it with a fresh-keeping film, the oil in the food can easily dissolve the harmful substances in the fresh-keeping film. Therefore, when food is put into the microwave oven, the wrapped fresh-keeping film must be removed first.


PET, namely polyethylene terephthalate, mineral water bottles, carbonated beverage bottles are made of this material. Beverage bottles can not be recycled for hot water. This material is heat-resistant to 70 C. It is only suitable for warm or frozen drinks. It is easy to deform when filled with high-temperature liquid or heated, and has the dissolution of substances harmful to human body.
